ST3000DM001 CRUSHED HEADS

Unfortunately, after a drive is powered on multiple times with heads like this, the damage to the platters gets too severe for a successful data recovery.

No NO NO!!! You've got it all wrong. You just need to put it in the freezer overnight. The shrinking of the metal will make the heads go right back into perfect alignment and you can then recover all your data. :D

At least it would repair the heads enough so that SpinRite can do go to work pulling the bits of dust out of the filter and putting them back onto the platters.
