Yes they do need to be heated constantly. If you are also getting errors while building the translator, heating the chips during that phase can also help. Personally I would start at a lower temperature and then work you way up depending on how the chip reacts, until you find the 'sweet spot'.

Also the spider board doesn't tell you if you don't have a connection. ie it will tell you if there is a short on a connection, but if you have missed a pin, it will still say the connection is good and show it as green.

Re: Usb terminal 3 adapter

It may be because the PCB/ROM is not supported. On many modern Seagates the ROM needs to be read via a reader, then unlocked in PC3000 and written back to the ROM with the reader. Also a good idea to use a donor ROM in case anything goes wrong with reading/writing.

That depends where you are in the world. If you are in the US then its of no use at all. If based in the EU it can be useful.

Not sure if this has been mentioned. But would be good if MRT DE featured the name of the DE task in the top header.

Re: Is it possible to get to the middle of a music CD without the beginning?

There are CD repair kits available. We have had some success using them. Its a machine that spins the disc and smooths out the top protective layer and sometimes gives access to data. Probably not worth it for a one off use, so you may have to find someone locally who has one.
