It seems that the list of unrecoverable SSD controllers is greater than the list of recoverable controllers. So, this thread is intended to be a log of SSD models, their controllers, issues and recoverability...and anything else that might be relevant.
Feel free to contribute.
SSD Model, Controller, Issues and Recoverability
Re: SSD Model, Controller, Issues and Recoverability
Model: 120GB SSD (yes, for real. Doesn't even have a label on the casing)
Controller: SM2258XT G AB
Symptoms: Detects correctly, but absolutely no LBA access
Solution: Not yet supported with PC3000 SSD. Recovering using custom methods.

Re: SSD Model, Controller, Issues and Recoverability
Model: 240GB SanDisk SSD Plus
Controller: SM2246XT H AA
Symptoms: Stuck at BSY and does not ID
Solution: Virtual translator. Reads about 2/3 of the sectors good.
--- ---
Amendment, after reading at about 200KB/second for several days, we are only reading about 1/4 of the sectors, with 3/4 being unreadable.

Re: SSD Model, Controller, Issues and Recoverability
Model: Samsung 256GB 830 Series
Controller: S4LJ204X01-Y040
Symptoms: Stuck at BSY
Solution: Short to kernel mode. Use virtual ldr and generate virtual translator. Reads with bad blocks (~ 1/2% of sectors are unreadable)

Re: SSD Model, Controller, Issues and Recoverability
Model: 120GB Kingston SUV400S37/120G
Controller: 88SS1074
Symptoms: Client and technician couldn't access the drive
Solution: Failing NAND, able to clone with DDI with lots of bad blocks, but most are readable with multiple long timeout passes.

Re: SSD Model, Controller, Issues and Recoverability
I wonder how many of these timeout related problems could be recovered with HDDSuperClone by adjusting the Timer Settings?
