Microsoft surface models have evolved from have an mSATA SSD to an embedded eMMC chip to now having an embedded PBGA (NVMe BGA SSD) chip for the device storage. While this has helped increase the performance of their systems, it has posed a huge challenge for the data recovery world. Up until recently, there has been no adapters to even interface with these chips, let alone being able fix any firmware issues that tend to pop up with SSD technology.
As of now, Recovery Force has the adapters to read these chips. There are still other challenges that come with these chips coming from the Microsoft Surface most particularly encryption.
