iPhone data recovery software

Here is a question asked of my on Skype:

"Do you know about data recovery on iphone to clone an image and recover with third-party software?"

I haven't really done anything with mobile phones in several years. Anyone got any suggestions of programs that actually do as requested. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure that even if one could get a full image of the iPhone, it would be fully encrypted and totally useless when bypassing the controller.

Yes, but not only iPhones. Also Android phones are encrypted!
