Yes, so idea is SR runs into problem sector, does it's "magic", then writes back to bad sector LBA. Claim is that what is written back is recovered data. Suspicion is that 1. you can never know for certain it is recovered data and 2. what does it do when it can not recover the sector data -> write back nonsense, silently?

Assuming that you mean the last post about the file hashes, no, files occupy sectors with no known issues.

If you mean where I filled drive with FF, the suspect sectors appear to read ok. I'm going to bring the bad sectors back. I have a way to do this.

Does anyone know where the development of SpinRite is heading? Does anyone have the v6.1 beta versions? Is there a changelog?
