My basic understanding is that a sector in the g-list has already been remapped for LBA use. If you clear the g-list, it simply puts those bad sectors back into "available" circulation for the next remapping that might be needed. I can't see low a LLF would make a difference, other than possibly finding other bad sectors to add to the g-list. However, those entries re-introduced by clearing the g-list would likely be added bad if they were referenced again when trying to use for remapping, assuming that they are truly defectice sectors.
