Doubt HDD parking

Post by cloudff7 »

My 2.5" HDDs are a bit old, I don't know if they have the function of having automatic parking technology only when inactive? no read/no write/park

My models are: WD10JPVX-08JC3T5 and HGST HTS541010A99E662

Auto park technology has evolved in recent years

In the reports of people I see some 2.5" HDD + enclosure case USB 3.0 after being ejected in Windows 10 they remain connected and operating

I'm not 100% clear on what you are asking. The windows eject frequently failes because the device is still active in the background.

How do I find out if when I ejected the 2.5" HDD + USB3.0 case in Windows 10 the HDD went into parking mode? Is any log saved on the PC?

The parking is a built-in function of the hard drive, not the OS. As this has no relevance to data recovery and has pretty much no practical use, I see no value in carrying on this discussion here. I see that you started the same discussion on the hddguru forums and suggest that it just be carried on over there.

HDDGuru only ironic answers would not be serious

My models are 2013: WD10JPVX-08JC3T5 and HGST HTS541010A99E662 two models has auto parking system?

All modern drives made since the 90's have auto parking to the best of my knowledge. I've never seen a modern drive that doesn't. Again, what does it matter?

In which situations is autoparking of 2.5" HDDs activated? You said that ejecting the 2.5" HDD + USB3.0 case in Windows 10 has nothing to do with autoparking

When you eject the drive, the system essentially verifies that there is not current activity connected with the files on the drive and unmounts it. The drive auto parks when not in use and when powered off. Again, who cares? I am done with this thread.
