The low end of my price ranges are reserved for grandmas who lost pictures of the grandkids and students who are generally broke but don't know enough to back up their thesis or their homework due next Monday. Most recovery jobs are at the higher end of the range (especially for businesses), and those prices were not much different from yours until you raised them recently.

...I had to raise my rates just to make sure my clients didn't mistake me for one of those discount labs in Ottawa.
In all seriousness, your rates are perfectly fine for a one man show. Though, you are probably underselling yourself, giving your clients more than what they are really paying for.

Thanks Luke; I'll tell them you said so, should they complain about cost.

I'm usually pretty quick to let my client's know that Drive Savers starts at $700 USD and has a normal range up to $2900 USD, with very few cases being done at their minimum rate.

I still have to see it in action too.
Remember that now the updates are paid.
Have you sold yours yet?
No yet!!
It was sold to a guy, but he backed down because of the cost of the upgrade!!!
For the price, I rather keep it.

Now they are showing version 2.001 with a
Seagate LM partial sector access fix.

Doesn't seem too revolutionary to me.
Code: Select all
1, Connect COM cable;
2, Enter Seagate F3 firmware repair program;
3, Go to menu-Defects Management>NG-list Operations>Clear NG-list(ATA or COM)
4, Go to menu-Defects Management>Translator Operations>Regenerate Translator LM

I tried the temperature adjust function on a couple of drives without success a couple of days ago, but will try again. One drive had firmware issues so the feature didn't work. The other drive was so unstable that I bricked it by adjusting the temperature. I'll try to resurrect it and try again, or try other drives.
