Hey

WD 2.5"
WD10SPCX - 24HWST1 (Big Bear) 2 platters, 4 heads
No alignment needed.
These drives have a lot of spindle motor failures (so no alignment helps with recovery).

I can confirm that WD Helios WD10TMVW-11ZSMS4 (3 platters, 6 heads) does not have an alignment issue.

I can confirm that Grenada ST3000DM001 (3 platters, 6 heads) does not have an alignment issue.
