Hello,
Well that's just RAM for caching, I'd let that for JPEG Recovery LAB to auto manage. It's just useful for slower devices like memory cards, by caching large parts in memory + faster storage devices some speed gain is possible.
Go with defaults is what I'd suggest right now. All settings should be default anyway except file types selected. So make sure to tick all of them. May seems counter productive, but knowing where a ZIP or JPEG file is means we don't have to look for MP4 there. So less noise basically when figuring out MP4.
With current version I see far less crashes in telemetry so I have good hope.
Kind regards,
Joep
Update above.

Sorry I totally missed a new reply was added.
I have trouble locating this on my telemetry server so I can not determine what's going on .. It would be easiest to create the file at your PC locally. This can be done by starting JPEG Recovery LAB with a switch. So, you'd open a command prompt with admin rights > do what I do marked bold/blue followed by pressing enter >
Microsoft Windows [Version 10.0.17134.112]

C:\WINDOWS\system32>
cd\
C:\>
cd program files
C:\Program Files>
cd disktuna
C:\Program Files\Disktuna>
cd jpeg recovery lab
C:\Program Files\Disktuna\JPEG Recovery LAB>
jpegrecoverylab/log:log.txt
JPEG Recovery LAB will run and save logfile to log.txt. Please email me that file after program crash (
joep@disktuna.com).

Hi,
Yes you can recover damaged data files or corrupt data files by installing free file recovery software from the internet. This software are easy to use and cost you no money at all.
You can search online...and various recovery tools are there .

Hello - I've run a few deep scans with Data Rescue 5 (trial version). I get through Phase 3. I see my lost files (images, movies, audio), but the Preview fails in a few ways. I get a message box saying the app has crashed (but it hasn't). Or nothing happens. I've been in touch with ProSoft. I've sent them Apple crash reports, DR support info zipped file. One of their info sheets says adjust ABL settings if Preview doesn't work properly. I have no idea where those are. Disk Warrior rebuilt my directory. Disk Drill failed. I'll try ProSoft again on Monday - but I'm close to giving up. Pricey Data recovery is the next option on another back up drive (same data). Long story. Any advice out there? I'm on El Capitan, MacBook Pro 2009.

Mikolly, now that we know everything you have tried, perhaps you can take a step back and explain why you need to recover your files.
