We just received this drive with a dead PCB. The ROM is stored in the processor and there is no U12 chip present.

• Using a matching board programmed with a similar ROM from a WD2500AAJS-40L7A0 hard drive, we were able to gain SA access.
• Saved the SA modules by ID
• Regenerated ROM from saved SA modules
• Copied generated ROM to donor PCB
• Drive now detected and has LBA access
• Mirroring with some bad sectors and file system damage

This project will be completed in less than 24 hours of receiving it...all for our base price of $350 CAD.

I love smooth recoveries like this though. Seems to be a good week for them, been having a lot like that come in here too.
