PC3000 Flash ECC correction

Post by lcoughey »

It really sucks when you take the many hours to get the dumps from the NAND chips and run the ECC data correction when you see page after page of unfixable sectors.

After the ECC correction above, then end result for each 16GB dump was as follows:

Chip 0
- dump 0 - 15.97GB Bad
- dump 1 - 15.97GB Bad

Chip 1
- dump 2 - 2.57GB Bad
- dump 3 - 5.41GB Bad

Not very good for this recovery.

Although there are a lot of missing files, we were able to recover about 8GB of files with full file and folder structure. Sadly, there are many root folders with no data, because of the incomplete dump of the NAND.
