APFS is very complex and usually accompanied with encryption and a password. But, that shouldn't really matter as the main goal would be to get a full sector-by-sector clone of a drive.

Not in the foreseeable future. But, it is very similar to my Startech SATASASDUPE11, so I'm sure it will work as advertised.
