One of the most annoying things with the Western Digital Spyglass family is the process one has to go through to image it after the head issues are resolved. With the older Western Digital My Passport USB 3 interfaced hard drives, we would quickly read and write the ROM from the USB board and program a SATA PCB, allowing us a more stable interface. But, that process is not quite so simple with the newer drives. Trying to image with PC3000 directly through the USB interface poses issues because Windows immediately starts trying to work with the unstable drive. This is where the DeepSpar USB stabilizer shines, in my opinion. The stabilizer handles the drive's instabilities and allows us to work image with Data Extractor without a bunch of system freezes and reboots.
