Seagate ST1000DM003 Recovery

Symptoms:
- This drive is not being detected by any system
Diagnosis:
- Firmware, sector and possible file system damage
Recovery Process:
- Did a work around to get by firmware issues
- Mirrored the drive with minimal sectors
In short, 100% of the data was recovered for $350.

Drive clicked and would stick at BSY state. Terminal output was something like this (grabbed from another similar case):

To fix, I shorted the PCB to get terminal access...drive still was BSY. Then, forced my way to edit model 93, uncheck all boxes and saved to the drive.
Drive would still read very slowly (about 1MB/second most of the time), with errors. It was definitely at the end of its life. But, we were able to target the data with DDI and mirror only the used data sectors, getting a full 100% clean recovery of the user's data.

You can recover your hard disk by using stellar data recovery services. They are really good at spamming and suck at data recovery.
