How valuable is your data? That is, are you willing to risk losing it all by trying it yourself? If not, it is best to get the drives into the hands of a data recovery professional before you attempt anything on your own.

But, as for the steps to do it yourself, I will list them off. If you don't understand how to do these steps, it is another sign that you really should seek the assistance of a data recovery professional. Here we go:

1. Get a full sector-by-sector clone/image of each drive in the NAS. You can use ddrescue, hddsuperclone or UFS Explorer
2. Set the original drives aside
3. Connect the clones/images to a system where you can run various data recovery prorgrams like UFS Explorer or R-Studio
4. Virtually reconstruct the RAID with the program you choose, verify that it shows the files you need to recover and save them out to a new hard drive

Don't do anything with the original drives until you are 100% sure you won't need to send them to a professional.
