There has been a firmware bug for various Intel Solid State Hard Drives (SSD) that results in the drives no longer detecting and giving access to the data. Until recently, most data recovery labs had no solution for recovering the data from these drives and the only option was to run a low level factory restore, which wipes all the data from the drive, to get the drive to respond again.
