Has anyone used CNW recovery before?
I did a scan of 1% of a 465 gb hard drive and its producing thousand files totalling over 500 gb and counting. How is this possible?

Help with CNW mp4 recovery
Hello. I am trying to recover some mov/mp4 files from a deleted 500GB NTFS hard drive. Some of the files would play and then stop half way through. The files are still full size and length, they just crash a couple of minutes in. I downloaded CNW recovery, but am having trouble navigating it. I star...

Re: Can I recover corrupted .mp4/.mov files using a hex editor?
I can strongly recommend this software. It is not cheap, but works really well. It will be best if you use it on the original drive (if you still have it). It scans the drive, shows you the fragments it finds and allows you to put them back together. Like I say its expensive, but I have had some ve...

Re: Can I recover corrupted .mp4/.mov files using a hex editor?
But .. Did you also try 'normal' file recovery rather than a carver? Because in general on NTFS fragmentation is not that big of a deal if indeed you only deleted those files. Thats actually what I tried. Sorry I thought they meant the same thing. Can you briefly explain the difference? Also I trie...

Re: Can I recover corrupted .mp4/.mov files using a hex editor?
Hello, What do your files look like in hexadecimal format? Can you show the first sectors of a pair of files. Because if you have files with headers and index tables, it will be difficult to merge them. But if you have an MP4 video stream, this is easy to do. Hey lurii, thanks for your reply. I tak...

Can I recover corrupted .mp4/.mov files using a hex editor?
This is the story. I had many files on an NTFS external drive that I deleted back in 2016. I made sure not to write anything to the disk just in case I wanted the files back. Come 2018, I wanted them back. I tried normal data carving software, it found files but most of the ones I wanted were fragme...

Re: Can i get back damaged files?
Sorry I totally missed a new reply was added. I have trouble locating this on my telemetry server so I can not determine what's going on .. It would be easiest to create the file at your PC locally. This can be done by starting JPEG Recovery LAB with a switch. So, you'd open a command prompt with a...

Re: Can i get back damaged files?
Hello, Well that's just RAM for caching, I'd let that for JPEG Recovery LAB to auto manage. It's just useful for slower devices like memory cards, by caching large parts in memory + faster storage devices some speed gain is possible. Go with defaults is what I'd suggest right now. All settings shou...
