Yet Another ST2000DM001 Recovery

Post by lcoughey »

Our team initially thought that this Seagate drive had failing heads, but just before a head change, we tried one more time to revive it. To our surprise, we were able to fix a few damaged firmware modules, get the drive to ID and recovered 100% of the client's data. On top of that, the cost to recover the data was dropped from the initial $700 + parts for a major recovery to $350 for our minor recovery service.
