Now that is a motherboard!

I wish. What do you think I'm running here, a data centre? I don't need much more than a hand calculator for the amount of DR I do.lcoughey wrote: ↑Wed Apr 03, 2019 2:04 pm ASUS Z10PE-D16 WS

Maybe we can expect to see you build your own system board like you did with your clean chamber? A few pieces of cardboard, a glue stick and a few strands of phone wire should do it.

Gonna buy one for myself.
My solitaire game is getting slow

Re: Now that is a motherboard!
I suggest no less than 256GB of RAM for solitaire.

I still like my board better: https://www.gigabyte.com/us/Motherboard ... -rev-10#kf
One less PCIe slot, but with how close together they are on that board, I wouldn't be able to use two of them anyway.
Plus, my board has more SATA ports and USB ports.

How do you read your board as having more SATA ports?Jared wrote: ↑Mon Apr 08, 2019 6:39 pm I still like my board better: https://www.gigabyte.com/us/Motherboard ... -rev-10#kf

Your GigaByte board does have more M.2 and USB ports, but of less importance that SATA ports, in my opinion.8 x SATA 6Gb/s connectors vs 10 x SATA 6Gb/s port(s)

Re: Now that is a motherboard!
You're right, I only saw the 6 ports on that Asus one. I didn't notice the other 4. So I guess it has two more than mine. Either way, I'm only using 4 of them for the front hot-swap bays in my case. Then I've got two M.2 SSDs (one for OS and another for my !Profiles folder and local files).
You'd be surprised how often I nearly fill all of my USB ports though. Because I store all my cases as image files on my RAID arrays, at night I'm usually leaving it copying three or four cases to USB drives for customers to pick up the next day.
Theoretically, my board also supports thunderbolt (it has a header for it), but they've yet to get Intel to license the tech since it's an AMD processor. I keep hoping one day they will work it out and the next firmware update will support it.
